Liptovský Ján

Liptovsky Jan is a small village . It is considered as an enter gate into Janska dolina (gorge) and as the place to set off a trip along many touristic routes. Liptovsky Jan is well-known center of recreation and turism suitable for summer and winter sports. The first written reference to Liptovsky Jan is from 1327. The village was known above all for its thermal springs. In 1549 a slovak writer Juraj Werner mentioned the village in his book „ About Hungarian medicinal springs“. In 1963 a new spring was bared. Its water have temperature 29,4 °C and blow out from a depth of 95 m. The termal water has proved medicinal effects. It cures kinetic, neurotic and cardiological diseases.
